The Plan: Update

I haven't had any time to manage the blog at all lately. But wanted to get an update out. Progress as been made one both projects, fears (spider) and steam town. The fears project has moved along but it's all the boring background stuff that isn't very exciting to see so I'm going to hold off on posting for now. Steam town has made progress to be worthy of an image update, and so...

Just Hitched.

So as promised, that finished art I mentioned a post or to ago.

I got married in November. I wanted an unusual invite, but my wife wanted formal. We settled on her getting formal invites, and while i had free reign on the thank you cards.

This is the design for the thank you cards.

And Here's the line work.

Stickin' to the Plan

The title, maybe misleading... I may deviate from the plan a little. I might do some background work on this before moving onto the wind/waterwheel town.

Anyhow, here's the updated rough for the fears. I changed the idea slightly. I think this new iteration tells a better story and has more potential for the series.

The Plan

Okay, So the blog has been inactive for some time. But I am putting a plan forward starting today to rectify that.

1) I've got a new idea for an illustration I want to work on. Which I want to get to a stage where it is ready to render. The idea is to take things that make people frightened or uncomfortable and to exaggerate them to ridiculous proportions. If you are like me, you are not bothered by spiders. However, when you are showering and one drops by to say hello, that is not a cool thing. Not cool at all. Rough concept shown below.

Once I have that Ready to render I'm going to pull out an old drawing I half finished and then put aside for paying work and finish it, also posted below. As an aside this is why it is nice to have 2 drafting tables. I had this drawing out and had to take it down for some paying work which needed my drafting table. The drawing came down and went into a drawer, never to see the light of day again. But I vow to resurrect and complete this bad boy.

Finally, Somewhere in the next week I have a fun finished drawing to post, but I have to wait because it is currently in the mail and I don't want to ruin the surprise for any potential recipients.

So, once more in point form.

The Plan
Stage 1) Getting the first in what I hope will be a series about fears ready to laid out and render.

Stage 2) Finishing the wind/water wheel town

Stage 2.5) Fun finished drawing posted sometime next week.
