instability

So I wanted to go with a style which showed more brush strokes.
Created a few new brushes... about 9 times each.
I was having trouble with photoshop crashing.

I think it looked best one crash previous to this version.

Untitled

This one was a fun little experiment.
I did a little bit of digital inking but wanted the pencil work to show through while achieving a graphic sort of style.

A little news, and a little Diddy...

So, you could always link to my webpage from this blog by clicking my moniker up top there.
Now, the webpage also links back to my blog. Very exciting I know.

and now for the little Diddy.
At first it was a house flowing down the waterfall... then a cottage. neither seemed quite right.
a capsizing shipwreck somehow feels much better. And now I'll get to render in some rotten old wood and scattered sails and ropes.
I like where this is going.

Lot's more work to do, but it should be good.

95 king east

Here's a pair of little ditties, I did to promote the lease of 95 king east.

One concept shows the place as a custom home furnishing store.
The second shows it as a hip bar/grill

The goal was for a digital watercolour look, which I think for the most part was a success.
It would have been nice if I had more time to tweak some textures and put a little more work into the people.

Speed paint.

Photoshop, one hour and this result.

Here's one I titled....

Oh no! The Parakeet!

Watercolour on hot press paper.

Arrr

Vorn, Feral World Assassin

Here is a character I'm currently working on.
He is my feral Moritat assassin, from my group's dark heresy game.
I decided to do a very plain frontal pose to illustrate where he keeps his gear.

Here is 3/4 view to better illustrate his facial structure. He's basically never a happy fellow.

Now for the nerdy Photoshop stuff.
I've been experimenting with brush I made.
I've only been using 3 brushes on this one.
They look like this.

Having only a few brushes is faster as I can bounce through them using <> on the keyboard.
I don't think I've used that middle brush much at all at this point.
That bottom one is the real bread and butter so far.
I think it feels like painting with oils.
